So I need some help in understanding this...
I have a Asus P5Q mobo... It says it supports DDR2 -1200 (on the box), but if I check in the manual it shows DDR2 - 1066 as being the fastest supported modules...

So my question is will it actually support DDR2-1200 modules? i.e (Kingston Hyper-X KHX9600D2K2/2G 2GB (2 x 1GB) kit 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1200) As a bad example... OR will it only support DDR2-1066 overclocked to DDR2-1200"speeds". If that makes any sense...

Yup overclocked to 1200 but don't worry man, honestly ddr 800 is not slower than ddr 1200, ok maybe .05% slower :).

I would not suggest putting ddr 1200 memory on the board because if you overclock you will run your memory under clocked because your mobo cannot handle more than 1200.

I spent 1.2k on ddr 1066 modules from ddr 800 and let me tell that was the biggest waste of money ever!!!!!!!

I've got 2GB DDR2-667MHz CL5 timings o/c to 800MHz CL5 timings in my server.
If you need more RAM, I would recommend going for Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX, it's 4GB (nice for a 64bit OS) and retails online for +-R1200.
If you want to max the mobo, I think more the components on it, then you would also require cooling for faster speeds but first read around and start small like i.e. CPU.
