Hi guys.

I'm in the process of getting 1GB DDR2 667 Dimms. What do I have to look for? Is there any specific make that's not good? I don't want the most expensive ones either. I don't do gaming or overclocking. Just a normal work Desktop PC. Only do Audio work on it.

I've got a Intel Lemont DP965 motherboard with a E6600.

Kingston Valueram or Transcend Jetram. Those I believe would be the safest bet and generally most compatible....I have read of quite a few mobos that do not like the Corsair RAM too much.

ddr2-667 will be slower than ddr2-533 on conroe.

seeing as you wont be doing any overclocking all you will feel is the slower pc.

i;ve discussed this before, use search to find the reasons.

Not really. What you lose in terms of running 1:1 you get back with the increased bandwidth... At least AM3 seems to behave so...

not so with conroe.
533>667
800>533 (just..barely..due to increased bandwidth)
