De La Rey not only subversive song

They are all a bunch of idiots, left, right and centre....:(

Heard this song yesterday on 5 and the debate that continued afterwards with many people calling in and saying what a ridiculous situation this is and that it is just a song...

I have to agree. Talk about a storm in a teacup! I thought it was quite catchy...Incite people to take up arms?! Please man.

Still don't know what all the fuss is about?

Remember Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody if you played it backwards you were supposed to hear satanic stuff, pretty nice song if you play it normally (Who would ever think of playing it backwards?)

Bok van Blerk has also said he dont want to be associated with the boeremag or the old South African flag. But I am surprised they played this song on 5

Man, five don't give a ****, which is what is so great about them! It was Gareth Cliff after all. :)

As I said, to me it is just some old song that happens to be a bit catchy...I quite liked it actually. Ended up half singing along to it. At no point did I find any of it offensive, nor was I incited to start any kind of violent rebellion...

I think the song is what you make of it you can take it both ways. It's exactly the same as people that misinterpret the khoraan so they can justify killing.

Well, all I can say is it makes my heart swell and gives me goosebumps, it makes me feel (for lack of a better term) boer patriotism.

And no, I dont mean pride in these apartheid ****koppies that often just squandered our money and rights on the sillyest schemes and ideas...

I don't get it. Whats the big deal? Is it a fuss because the singer is a white afrikaans male?

No, i think the issue is actually the following. The ANC gov is afraid, they rule with fear but fear also rules them, they are so insecure in their leadership that they hook onto anything so that they can play the blame game.
