Deactivate the sound when un/locking the car

Is it possible to deactivate the lights and beep sound that the car makes when locking/unlocking the car?
It's a RunX 2005.

I don't mind if it does that when I'm locking the car. I just don't like when I'm unlocking, more especially during the night.
I don't want to replace the security system though

There are a lot of programming options on these systems. But, phone the dealer and ask them, because you never actually know what the manufacturer has actually installed into your car.

As far as I recall, it is connected to the hooter on the RunX, and if you deactivate that you end up with no sound at all...I know that it's irritating, but I think that you would have to get the whole system changed to one that flashes lights...not worth the hassle IMHO...
