I was swapping around HDDs yesterday and everything went fine, today though when i turned on my PC, it wouldn't detect my HDD, not even in the BIOS setup. Any clue what could have happened?

I think it died. :(

Try putting it in the fridge in a seacled plastic bag for 30 mins.

Take it out and wipe it off before you plug it into a different computer.

If it runs... copy everything off it quick.

It ain't by any chance a Seagate 7200.11,hey?
Good luck man, I know how this feels, happened to me also!

I recently had the same problem. No errors, no clicking, nothing. HDD doesn't even spin.

It could be the PCB on the drive that's blown or faulty.
If you can get your hands on an identical drive, try swapping the boards. An identical board will probably get the drive powered up and spinning but if the firmwares don't match up, you won't be able to read the drive.

Unfortunately my drive is 7+ years old so finding a matching drive is near impossible. Will be taking it in to some pro's soon to see if they can revive it.

I've used it many times. Most of the time you won't get more than one go at it. So if does start, use your time well.
:)
I also use a program called Regenerate Hdd. It works fairly well. You will have to get the paid version though.

What sort of problems did you have that this method worked? Were there any errors on the drive? Was the PCB blown?
