Hi guys! I'm need of some serious help.

Last night I moved my PC a little bit forward and HDMI cable came out, when I put it back in, the monitor didn't pick up any picture. I then proceeded to try two other HDMI cables and another monitor and nothing. However, I was able to get a picture when using VGA or DVI/HDMI with both of monitors.

My Specs are as follows:

Msi Z77 G43
i5 3570k
8 Gb Ram
Coolermaster 650W
500Gb & 2 TB Western Digital hard drives.

I've been running the onboard graphics through the hdmi port hence no graphics card. I tried older drivers and nothing. I've read that there are problems with Intel's drivers but need to make sure my HDMI port is not indeed dead.

I'm ready to reformat my hard drive - Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong and I should do before progressing?

Strange, I plug in /out HDMI cables on a regular basis while live and never had an issue. I cannot see a format of the drive helping at all?

Ya, i think so too but it will also help confirm if it is indeed dead and needs to go in for repair as it's still under warranty. Just hoping somone may have any other ideas.

Indeed make sure the cable is well seated properly, it happened to me that it was not plugged in fully.

Have you tested the HDMI screen input with another device?

Any bios settings to make/force hdmi to be the first choice? It should then boot onto the screen IF it indeed recognizes the HDMI device screen. Simply unplug all other devices and see if it boots in dos onto the HDMI display if not take the board or screen in for repairs/replacement

Thanks for your help!

-Only thing in the bios is to choose between IGU and PEG.
-Tested both montirs and their HDMI inputs work fine with other devices.
-Tried booting up PC with only HDMI connected and eventually get no signal with both monitors.
-Don't even get the bios startup screen when only plugged into hdmi only.

Then it could be save to suggest something is amiss with that port. Hope you can get it sorted.

The Hdmi port on my HD PVR stopped working recently, though It was giving me trouble for a while now (and it was a refurbished unit Multichoice gave me in the beginning of the year as the one I got wasn't working out of the box)

And my Brother recently pulled his hdmi port out or something on his motherboard(haven't really had the time to look at it, will see if I can fix it soon).

Returned the mb to the suppliers and they deemed it faulty so now I'm waiting for a replacement. Thanks for the help wily!

EDIT: The suppliers said the board was dead. Weird as it was working besides the HDMI port when I gave it to them.
