Why not learn how to check yourself, and to replace yourself.
These are not the most difficult of things to.
You need to be very methodical though, if you tend to be a bit slapdash, leave it to others.

I understand that replacing brakes could be too much for some but checking them is something everyone can do, there is really no reason to be lied to by dealers.

Honda parts are expensive, a colleagues at his rear brake pads are over R3k and are more expensive than the front ones, for a CR-V.

Bought a second hand Toyota Corolla from a reputable dealership. Took ownership of vehicle and noticed a few days later a shudder when braking quite hard. I phoned and informed the salesman, he said bring the vehicle in.
They agreed there was a problem, so they skimmed the front discs.

Forward a week or two later, same problem arises, phoned salesman again, took in vehicle.
They replaced the front discs and pads at their cost.

This is exceptional service from a dealership without any hassles.
