Hi there

I have recently found myself in an irritating predicament.

Imagine this:
Here I walk through happy pvp land on my warrior (70) <Full Dps build (orc btw)> [Fury]. I see a happless mage casting at some other hapless sap. I charge in and drop the mage with snares, stuns and abilties (occasionnaly I get snared they run away but I kill them in the end).
The problem I am having is rogues. They dont kill me but I just cant seem to kill them either! Now. My mage is dead and everything in happy pvp land is just that happy. Now some damn rogue pops up. Stuns me. The stun wears off and I bring everything I can down on him. When he hits about 30% (I'm normally around 50% at this stage) He stuns me again, runs away and vanishes. How do I fight this? My stuns dont last as long as his so even if I do get my stuns off they dont last long.

Be glad he didn't stunlock you into oblivion?

If you think you got issues, try being a Rogue trying to take on a Prot Pally.

If you have a bleed on him he can't vanish again, if he cant vanish, he can't pwn you with another cheap shot, a rogue who can't vanish during the fight is at a big disatvantage, as these days you cannot stunlock for the duration of the fight. Your first attack on a rogue should be a dot that cannot be removed with Cloak of Shadows.

Rarely have issues with rogues as a 400-res resto shaman. Earthshield usually soaks up the initial stunlock long enough to reshield, drop a poison cleanse totem and dot him with a flameshock. From there on i can trinket out of his next lock attempt and wear him down with searing totem, earthbind and heals/more flameshocks.

Problem really is when he decides he can't win, it's usually impossible to prevent a cloak-vanish. They can't kill me, but neither can I kill them before they chicken out and bail.
I don't think there exists a class that can kill a good rogue 1v1. You might be able to survive, or chase one off, but rather like resto druids, if they decide they don't wanna die, they arent going to, and there's screw-all you can do about it. Occasionally you might luck-out against a suicide-noob who blows his cooldowns too early, but consider such wins as luck rather than skill.

Bleed effects...lots of them...don't be scared to fear him and charge him again as well. Depending on how well geared he is, you can still get him...don't be scared to change stances or blow your cooldowns, I will even pop a demoralizing shout to drop his AP or last stand to burn him asap.....oh and spam execute as soon as you are able.

Not scared. You can't kill me. Just annoyed by your cowardice. If you choose to pick a fight, follow it to it's conclusion.
Only highly geared and skilled sub-spec rogues stand a chance against me in a 1 on 1 duel where you can't bail like a sissy.

But yeah, running away like a 12 y.o. girl is typical of those who'd play a rogue.

*insert evil laugh*, does it make you feel like a kamikaze pilot poking at the porcipine?

Nah. Ret Aura is queer. It's more the annoyance of how indestructible Prot Pallies can be and thx to Consecrate I can't get away if CoS is on cooldown.

I had some annoying Alliance Pally camping me on the Isle the other night.

At least the nearby Lock beat him around the head a bit.

Actually I meant Holy Shield+Redoubt+BoSanc

Shogun is saying prot pallys are gay even with the spells/abilities linked because rogues 'cant scratch them'

Any rogue that dies from hitting a Prot paladin, must be an id10t. Rogues do more damage to themselves than a Prot paladin does to them.

A rogue and fury warrior tried to gank me at the same time and all I did was consecrate>holy shield, until they were low on hp then a sudden judge->hammer of lol as the one ran. Rogue just vanished in the end (as they all do).

Funny thing though, 9/10 times its the rogue that starts the fight only to chicken out when the going gets tough.

I have a Fire Specced Mage...any idea how frustrating Rogues are for me :-|
