dear (?) pse help me do an MTN sim swap

there's a newly Rica'd SIM in my Note3, registered on the MTN network.

the MTN shop from whom i bought the SIM dialled 173 and only got a Xhosa menu but didn't get through to an operator in 25 minutes.

lunchtime today 173 is still only in Xhosa but a translator helped me through the menu options - 35 minutes, no reply from an operator. after lunch same thing.

the strange thing is that when i dial 173 from my old SIM (the number to be put onto the new SIM) i get an English menu. Only trouble is that in order to do a SIM swap you have to phone from the new SIM.

Mimen has tried to help in another thread but hasn't managed to sort out the problem.

any suggestions would be welcome.

You can call from any number. BTW to change the language dial 173 and press 5 to change the language.

There are just a couple of things they will ask you like last 3 numbers dialed, last recharge and how much,id number,name surname,if you have the old sim the sim no.

If you fail some of the questions they will ask you how much airtime you have currently or what phone was your sim in and what last did you use sms,data or phone call.

You could also just pop into a MTN store and skip all those questions and they do the sim swap on the system for you and it will take place in 2 hours.
