I'm struggling to get death & disability cover - my salary's gone up, and I tried to update my cover with my current company but they've taken almost a year, and it's still not sorted.

I went for a quote with another company, and they rejected me because of the medication I'm on - they say I suffer from depression, which I don't, I use the meds for panic attacks and not depression. I told them this, they just ignored it.

Now I don't know what to do. Do I go to yet another company? Is there some way I can challenge them on the depression? Does this mean that every time I apply for cover and they ask if I've been turned down before, that I have to say yes?

And if I can't get cover because of a bit of anxiety, how do other people manage to get cover?!

I'm really angry about this, and I just don't know where to go from here... any advice?

Are you recommending PPS, or asking if that's who I got a quote with?

Cath, I know at least 2 brokers who deals with that kind of thing. If you want, I can PM their details to you.

Thanks - I'll try to get it sorted myself, but if I can't it'll be useful to have contacts (the broker I've used for years seems to be, well, not as good as he used to be)

The guys I'm referring to are both older guys with years of experience in the industry. They also contact me regularly to review my portfolio, and if there's any status change that affects my cover, I can just call them, and they will then do the necessary. Plus, they review my portfolio at least once a year.

Not trying to sell you on my broker here, but it seems that that is the kind of broker you need.
