The slider on QQplayer and Mobo player doesn't work properly. It always jumps back to the beginning.
I need a player that can player a video at any point.

Any ideas.

Mobo works fine for me. Haven't tried xyplayer in a while. Maybe give that ago.

I dont play a lot of video on my phone, however i use RockPlayer Lite - works for me.

I've been using Moboplayer for more than a year now and never experienced this issue irrespective of format (.vob, .avi, .mkv etc.). It also starts at the last point that I watched when opening a video again.

Try playing the video in Software Decoding instead of HW but I'm leaning towards the video itself.

Might sound like the Apple way of doing things but it has yet to let me down.

Handbreak convert all my media to mkv and stick to stock players. I mostly do it for space as I don't see the need for 5 gig blueray rips on my phone when a 720 MB file would do.

Try BSPlayer lite. I installed it a few weeks ago, and promptly stopped using anything else. Seeking to random points on the timeline work well.
It plays just about anything - mkv, flv, etc. I've yet to see it fail on any video format I throw at it. Added bonus, it streams perfectly from the LAN (over wifi).

+1 for this. If u're looking for a free player the BSPlayer lite is probably the best option. It even rips through 720p HD mkv's for me (of course what u can decode will depend on your phones hardware). Still it plays pretty much anything u can throw at it. If u have the money to spend then Diceplayer is another good option (not sure if theres a free version). IMO opinion though i havent really seen any difference between Dice and BSPlayer so i would suggest the free option because, its free. :)

thanks for the responses guys.
Ill try them one at a time to see which works best.

You also have to download codecs too, depending on your processor. Here is the one for ARMv7:http://goo.gl/6QoSp . MXPlayer has worked perfectly for me.

I did but it didn't work. I must have done something wrong. Just tried BSPlayer. It worked the first time and now it just doesn't play at all :wtf: It downloads subtitles as well and does a pretty damn good job at it. Going to restart my phone and see what happens. Will try mxvideo player again now as well.

What about VLC Direct Pro?
I use it as a remote from my phone to control VLC on my PC and play videos of almost any format on my phone through it.

This is what I was actually looking for.
Where to download it?

VLC on my PC even plays more formats than my media player.

I don't see VLC Direct Pro in either the free or paid for app lists anymore.
Downloaded it when my phone was still on 2.3.4, and now on 4.0.3 it still plays anything I throw at it.

VLC Direct Pro is a streaming app with remote control build in for PC remote. In that catagory I still prefer Official XBMC Remote as I have XBMC installed on my Media PC and also allow me to send Youtube links to my PC from my phone to be played on my big screen TV.
