Decent budget gaming headset for about 1k

So my last headset with a mic is kaput and am looking for a decent solution for about 1k. There are so many more choices available than when I last bought one of these and have no idea which one to pick.

Any suggestions? I don't need it for daily use. Just for the odd game with my friends here and there.

For a gaming headset, I don't know of a quality pair in that price range with a good mic. If you are looking for a HyperX Cloud II clone, then the Ikon Alpha 3D is a good buy. I know Evetech sells them, but they are also available on Takealot.

I would have recommended a Redragon or a Cooler Master pair, but you get the Ikon for below R 800.

The Cloud II is a clone itself, but I'm not going to get into that. Technically, a lot of headsets are clones...

These are over the ear headsets, not apple airpods. The gunk will barely be there. But to each their own.

I was talking about over-ear ones. A lot of gunk can build up in places which can be seen when you start stripping them.

Bought my 2nd pair of HyperX Cloud Revolver headset a month ago. Most comfortable headsets I have ever had.

Not within OP's budget I know...just wanted to confirm your mention.
