Decent cheap isp

I know this has been asked a 100 times but I'll ask again. I want to sign up for a second account, I saw the list of cheapest isp's at Hellkom but I don't want to sign up with fly by nighters.

So the question is, have any of you had experience with these isp's and how do you rate them.

X-DSL: R215/mo
DOTCO: R230/mo
Kingsley: R239/mo
Adept: R240/mo
Cybersmart: R240/mo
@lantic: R249/mo
ODS: R249/mo
 
i know the following for the last few years ...

remember that who you choose is only your mail/support provider and nothing else so it does not matter to much ...

the majority of these are western cape town based
 
I'm with dotco .. 2nd cheapest ( I couldn't get hold of XDSL for about 3 days so I gave up) ... but no problems .. and the guy even phoned me to confirm password changes just to make sure it was me ... the only problem with most places other then Tiscali and mweb is that they don't have 24/h support ... but for now the only support they can give is with email .. evrything else is out of their hands .... now when ISPs start making their own BW packages ... well it will be a whole diffrent story ...


And anyway most of the smaller guys give you month to month contracts, so if you not happy just cancel and move to the next guy


as far as the other guys go Adept is the only one I have heard about (My parents used them (Dial up only - no ADSL) for a few months now and have nothing but trouble with connectivity/mail and browsing speeds) ...

Thanks guys, was just a bit nervous with isp's I've never heard of. Don't want them running off with my banking details.

Whatever do they want with your banking details? Telkom has none of my banking details. They invoice me, and *I* pay them (electronically, of course, but control resides with me.)
