Does anyone have suggestions for decent hardwood suppliers? Johannesburg area. Looking for Maple, Cedar, Oak, Ash etc.

Rare woods and Silverton hout handelaars.
These are hobbyist friendly but there are slightly cheaper ones if you have all the tools to work raw wood.

Our local timber supplier has really nice hardwood, but the pine and pine products they sell are absolutely rubbish.

+1 to Rare Woods. I've also heard good things about M & A Timbers in Stikland but I've never used them.

I can second Maple Street Timbers. They are my go-to for most of my timber needs (only things I don't get from them are boards like plywood, chipboard and MDF).

Country Woods in Wynberg is also not bad but usually have a much more limited selection.

Can highly recommend them did some shelving with Rhodesian Teak last year good selection, great prices and good service. They also deliver

I wouldn't trust anything coming out of Pfizer after 2020, but thanks for the effort.
