So both my wife and I are working from home, sometimes having teams meeting at the same time.

I need a USB headset. I am not an audiophile. Just something I can comfortably use.

Budget is roughly R600.

Main problem is finding one where the mic can cancel out background noise and voices so that it's just you talking in the meeting and not your wife, kids the dog and the rest of the neighbourhood too..

In my experience USB headsets work better.

Feel like wired headsets these days the budget options have the worst quality.
Get more value from the wireless options in the cheaper budget range.

Have the HS510 one I use at work for teams meetings and such, that one is similar.
If it is the same as the HS510 the audio is fine, nothing great, nothing terrible. It's clear and works well for work purposes.
Comfortable and long battery life.
Mic is good and detachable in case you ever need to travel, so won't get damaged like those with swing arms.

As someone with a much better Corsair headset, can honestly say, this gets you 70% - 80% of what those could do.
At least to someone like me that is not an Audio snob.

This is the issue. Most reviews all talk about Anti noise cancelling, but very few review the voice isolation capabilities of headsets.

That said, most headsets with a hardware microphone stalk should be better then ones without. Think of those call centre headsets. Jabra is popoular, but expensive.

Dont know anything else unfortunately. I am looking for wireless buds with great voice isolation.

Work issues Plantronics which is right up there for call centre etc and ours have the microphone stalk and still no good.. work issues the middle of the range stuff, so not cheaping out..

You will be hard pressed to get something that has decent noise cancelation out the box for that price.

Teams IIRC has built-in noise cancelation options, but I am not sure how well that works so YMMV (mainly because my headset was R3500 and it's built-in / companion software does the heavy lifting)

As a side note:
NVIDIA RTX Voice is a new plugin that leverages NVIDIA RTX GPUs and their AI capabilities to remove distracting background noise from your broadcasts, voice chats, and remote video conferencing meetings. This allows users to "go live" or join a meeting without having to worry about unwanted sounds like loud keyboard typing or other ambient noise in noisy environments. RTX Voice also suppresses background noise from players in loud environments, making incoming audio easier to understand.

My HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones have been great. I'm permanent WFH and I'm often in calls with clients 8am - 5pm. Never had issues with audio and microphone quality, and they're really well built. No issues in the last 4 yrs except wear and tear, and I got a replacement headband and ear pads off Temu a few months back. These will blow your budget but if you're looking for something mid-range that will last then these are a good option.

I use a pair of Razer BlackShark gaming headphones for work. Tried Bluetooth but got regular issues with latency or battery or whatever. Wired headphones like these have big ear cups for noise canceling, a comfortable headband for hours of use, a clear mic, and really good sound quality for picking up soft speakers in meetings. And it has a 3.5mm jack that goes into an included USB dongle, so zero issues worrying about battery. And yes, it costs like double your budget, but totally worth it.

Could look at some directly available from Redragon.

H888. Wireless, USB and USB to 3.5mm jack connectivity options.

I was going to suggest the Yealink BH76 Plus (which is the headset I requested for WFH from my employer), but then I checked prices in SA...

It has 4 mics dedicated to ANC and its so good that when I have ANC active my wife can be vacuuming in the same room and neither I nor the other parties in the Teams call can hear it.
