Decent tablet required

I want to get a tablet, but intend to wait until a decent affordable Windows 8.1 Pro becomes available.

Until then I am happy to get an Android or Apple.
Must have:
* great battery life
* speed. Don't want screen lag
*3G
*10" screen

Will use it mainly for email, web browsing, music.

Suggestions?

wait until tonight we have a nice deal on the acer tablet 10.1" 3G at a great price
 
Windows Surface Pro 2.

Would suggest a Surface Pro 3, but that has a 12" display.

You can get the SP3 as an i3, i5 or i7. Depends on your pocket.
 
If people are recommending Windows tablets I have to assume the app store is no longer a total disaster. Will check it out when I'm at my PC again.

I don't really use the Windows App store, on Windows you can do everything anyway.

That said, some of the Apps are good, like Netflix and Pressreader.

And at least you have reasonable browsers, unlike Android and iOS.

What's wrong with the browsers on Android? There are a bunch of good ones, like Firefox, Chrome and Opera. If you don't use the Windows app store then where do you get your apps from? I thought the Windows tablets were basically Windows 8 without the desktop function?

Xperia Tablet Z.

The only one I'd use currently.
