Decoder problems

I have the original Dual View decoder (not pvr) which has served me well for several years. Tonight inexplicably, I'm having some serious problems with the thing. Changing channels presents me with a blank screen. No sound, no picture. The picture kicks in after a short while, first with no sound, then with sound, before blanking out again, intermittently.

Does anyone else experience this? Is my decoder kaput or is Dstv sending me corrupt software to get me to upgrade to the new HD pvr?

I'm having a similar problem with my SPVR: blue screen of death / picture orange / etc.

I thought it was my CRT TV's screen going until I realised that I was only experiencing the problem with broadcast signals: no hassles experienced when playing DVD's, AVIs etc.

So I'm off to MultiChoice tomorrow ...

Had the exact same problem tonight. For hours we couldn't do a thing. I'm on the standard old decoder though.

Prob seems to be sorted now.

Phew! Mine also seems to be normal again today. I honestly don't trust Multichoice. It wouldn't surprise me if they are doing this deliberately to force people to upgrade. I am also unable to change the opacity of the info bars any longer. That's just software...

Certain channels were borked last night.

Nope, I have an HD PVR.
