when my sd-pvr decoder was plugged into my CRT tv via AV cables, I could use the decoder to control the volume. Now that the decoder is plugged into my Plasma via AV cables I can no longer control the volume using the decoder. Any ideas why this might be?

There are two audio outs, one that outputs a stream you can control and another that outputs a stream that you cannot. I assume its so that people watching in another room are not affected by people in the main room killing the volume.

Just switch it to the other audio port on the PVR.

oh yes I see now there's "fixed audio" and "variable audio" ports ! thanks :) i'm using TV2 which only has a "fixed audio" port.
