Whats happened to latencies nowadays? Is this just my line or are others having the same results? My line is 384 if that makes a difference.

Isn't it all suppose to be unshaped these days? (ICASA regs)

yea yea ok.... but still. I used to get between 200-300ms ping to amazon.co.uk and my google ping is better on my shaped account :P

wtf? how can you have half my ping to the same server and im using unshaped? typical telkom's brillant broadband service...

Hi,

I also noticed my pings to have dropped to those rates recently (on SAIX shaped). I first noticed it on game server lists to overseas servers.

It's weird because it's so close to the end of the month ;)

Best wishes

Um.. when you say dropped, you do mean as in a good thing? The thread title was a bit confused :p

btw, are the guys with high latency in Cape Town by any chance?

Yes, it's definately a good thing. I am referring to the ping echo round-time (lower is better).

btw, are the guys with high latency in Cape Town by any chance?

Well I am from CT and my ping is still like my post above since yesterday.

This can't be permanent though

Best wishes

Now explain this to me, clearly there is a difference in latency between www.l.google.com and www.google.com. What does the "l" do to make it go faster? One in Europe one in US?

Weird-thing though : I get very high latency when playing BF2142 on the SAIX servers... >80ms on average!
