Can anyone recommend non intel raid cards. I used to get adaptec from my supplier but they've been bought out by microsemi. Reason for non intel is i have only ASUS motherboards and intel dedi raid cards do not work with them.

Thanks

with adaptec being bought out by microsemi, will they now no longer do the adaptec raid cards..? not even with just a simple name change on the original cards..? that would be a huge loss..

to answer your question, look at supermicro cards runnning off the LSI controller.. not the greatest, but the only one i know of that you can get locally..

Intel also use LSI chipsets, so not sure if supermicro is going to make any difference.

Rectron, Axiz and the like all sell server components. You can also find a lot of stuff on ebay, which if you pick a reputable seller, can save you a couple of bucks if you're willing to forgo easy warranty swap-out.

This. Local prices for server grade stuff is absolute madness, I think you'll save a bit more than a couple of bucks. Regarding warranty, just buy 3 of the item you want off eBay which will still be cheaper than getting it locally and you have two backups :D
