Deep cycle batteries for Solar panels

Hi Guys,

I see different batteries, invertors and so on for installing solar power.

Let's assume I need the equivalent of 5.5KvA to run a house at night completely off the grid. What type of watt in total would I look at to charge the batteries to run for let's say 12 hours on battery alone. Also the type and volume of batteries. I see 12V 120aH batteries and I see 24v 1000aH batteries...

Is there some kind of calculation I can do to determine what I will need and how much of it?

Few online calculators but will prob be around 15kwh. Also you will need many batteries.

also, roughly speaking:
Total power usage per day / 6 (some say 5) = total panel wattage needed.
24V batteries are better.
