Defy Tumble Dryer DTD311

When I switch on my tumble dryer the heating element goes on, but when it stops to change direction the heating element does not come on again. So it doesn't switch. Anyone have such an issue before?

Front vented dryer? Take the back cover off and give it a good clean inside, especially around the bimetallic switch in the centre.

No this is South Africa. Clothes dry even in the night here in summer.

How sure are you it's stopping to change direction and not stopping because of overheating or a faulty thermostat?

It runs then 2 of the 4 heating elements switch on. It then stops, the 2 elements switch off the drum then turns in the other direction I hear a relay also switch but the elements do no switch on again. I did check the thermal fuse and I get a reading when I use the ohmeter. It has 4 heating elements and 2 thermal fuses 1 which has like a reset button on the back.
