When putting a vehicle through a Dekra test, they stick a round Dekra sticker inside the driver's side door frame.

The sticker is marked from 1 to 12 and one specific number is crossed off.

Does anyone know what the meaning of these numbers are, or where one can obtain a table that shows the meaning of numbers 1 to 12?

I searched on the Dekra site (maybe not hard enough) but can't find anything.

The month of the year it was tested I would imagine.

That makes sense.

I was hoping it would show the condition of the vehicle, e.g. 12: Excellent/No fault found, 1: Make sure your life insurance is up to date, etc. :D

These guys arent the best by the way. I sold my Focus in March to a private buyer. We agreed to have it checked beforehand. The car passed all the checks, the buyer collected it the next day. 2 Days later the car wouldnt start and it was the battery which needed to be replaced. So not sure how they tested the battery

Electronics are almost impossible to test. One minute they work the next they are a goner.

but a battery would give off an indicator that its about to go. doesn't the voltage change or something. or the amps. ive seen them testing a battery but cant now remember the measurement on the display.

Nope. You can test that it's borked, but you can't test that it's about to bork. They tend to die suddenly.

+1.

The battery on my BMW died mid-trip, no warning. All of a sudden just had every single warning light on the dash come on, and a complete loss of power. Turns out the battery went (had it replaced), and the alternator and voltage regulator also needed an overhaul.

That's what borked your battery. Your car was running on the battery instead of the alternator, until the battery was too flat to continue running the electrics - and when you flatten a battery like that, it tends to not recover.
