Delete temp directories in Windows?

I have a large number of files in /windows/temp and /user/appdata/local/temp directories. Is it safe to empty these directories from time to time?

yes, but use a program like ccleaner.

IM not sure if this is the same as what your talking about..
but for me,
i just go to start>run>%temp%
and then delete everything, and all the important things give u an "access Denied" error...
