How do you delete these files? I got 2 on my desktop and when I try delete them a messagebox comes up stating "Cannot Delete Ted. It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again". I checked for any files that might be using the 0 Kb application but I found none and there is no user profiles on this computer. Anyone with advice?

Hmm, from experience those are normally viruses. Check for patches to remove them. Otherwise, type in "msconfig" in your run bar and disable all the programs at startup (apart from the important ones). Delete it, and then re-enable them.

try using a different file manager like 'total commander' usually works for me for some reason.

There is hardly a day that doesn't go by that I don't use this little program for sorting out files, uploading via ftp, renaming clusters of jpg files etc.
Try using the Command Line Prompt.

Yes.

When booting your PC press F8 and go into Command Prompt. Then Delete the files Good old Dos style

worked like a dream... the two 0 kb files are gone :D

ahh and there I was thinking it was F5
Try looking at all the features of Total Commander.
It is very configurable.
Once you start using TC, you may never look back again?

Without going into too much detail on the settings within TC, make sure you configure the right button on your mouse as in Norton Commander, under Configuration/Operation.
Now you can simply right click, highlighting files to copy, move or delete.
TC has added plugins like Ram Copy to speed up copying of large files.

But don't let me spoil your fun. TC is a great program.:)

I can put up Screenshots of setting if you like?

Can do so a bit later after I have a shower.
The water has been off here for 2 days. :(

and I thought not having water here for 7 hours was bad...
The water pipes are broken in two places since yesterday morning.
We have water as in a trickle, but not enough pressure to fill the geyser and make a shower head operate properly.
Getting very "steamed" about the situation. :D
I cannot function without my daily shower. :(

and they took 2 days to repair it?
Still not fixed. :(

Yesterday I took water out of the Jacuzzi and filled an Industrial Kettle we use for functions. Stood in the bath pouring water over my head with the bucket.
Did I mention that the weather in CT is freezing. :D
I must now similarly do the same thing this morning.

And probably none of those around you either :D

sheesh that sucks... I wonder why they are taking forever to get to your place
The Council is on it.
They say it is a major break.
Some of the feeding pipes in the area are still the old crockery types. This is probably the reason for the break.

Just emptied a bucket of water from my jacuzzi into our industrial kettle.
later ppl
