Delid - why Relid?

The i5 has been a solid trooper the past 3 weeks - but today I finally got the i7-4770k. I only had 10 minutes before stage 4 load shedding (not running this PC on my inverter) but with the BIOS auto overclocks at max it sat at 4.4GHz, 1.3V and got up to :

Now I am not quite just yet ready to delid it as auto overclock is not efficient and I would rather manually dial it in. If I can do 4.5GHz at below 1.3V with temps not going over 80 then I'll leave it as is.
 
Wow, same setting as above but with manual voltage at 1.2V - huge difference in temps - this is without any delid.

Will up it to 4.5 or higher if this is stable. Being a dyed-in-wool AMD guy it is pretty impressive to see what the competition were up at a decade ago through the miracle of depreciation.
