So I'm happily waiting for shipping of my Dell 24" monitor which I bought from Fcon_Vpro today. So now I'm planning on how I'm going to connect it and to what.
The easiest is that I already have a VGA cable for my xbox 360 so I'll be using that input. I can also use component but at 1080i only.
So now I want to use DVI cables for my PC however I'm at a loss. I want to know what are the best DVI cables to use from my XFX 8800GTX to this monitor. My 8800GTX supports Dual-Link DVI (but does the monitor also need a dual-link DVI). If the monitor has a single DVI input do I need a dual DVI to single DVI cable.
Also I have seen DVI-D and DVI-I cables. What are the differences between the two? Will a DVI-D cable work if both inputs are DVI-I and vice versa?
Lastly where in cape town can I get these cables from?
