Hi all,

We just received a bunch of Dell D630 loan machines, with the SIM card slot underneath the battery ... however, none of them pick up the modem ... is there a setting somewhere that needs to be enabled?

Thanks

It can be disabled in the bios and by the switch on the left hand side. Are u sure the modems are installed? The SIM slot is on its own its not on the modem.

There isnt a modem in it, most of them didnt have one by default.
If you are breave and want to remove the beading above the keyboard to look underneath then im pretty much sure you will confirm the empty slot under there.
My one didnt come with a card either.
In the BIOS you will prolly see that its off and cannot be turned on.

I got one of them, simply make sure the Wifi/Bluetooth switch on the side is switched on. Also ensure that the Drivers are loaded. I had a problem with my drivers and reloaded them and it works fine now.
