Can someone who is familiar with the LCD options on DELL Laptops please give me some advice.

I am doing some research on the options available as far as LCD screens are concerned.

I have a 15.4 WUXGA which is 1920 x 1200 -- and a bit hard on the eyes

I would like a WSXGA+ which is 1680×1050 -- a better match perhaps ???

Then there is the option between a matte finish or a Glossy finish ??? ( and also "TruBright" / anti-reflective etc etc.)

Another option between manufacturers -- Sec / Samsung / Phillips -- and apparently some are better than others.

It looks like these big manufacturers just prioduce LCD's in a particular size and they are then fitted to a number of different makes of Laptop.

Does anyone have an idea of all the options that were offered by Dell -- or which can be obtained from them ???

I can do the swop over myself -- just need to know about the options that are available.

Thanks

I'm under the impression that 1680x1050 is the resolution on a 22", which is a bit big for a laptop? I'm using a Samsung 2232GW 22" 1680x1050 and it has been recommended to me for its quality and its eye-friendly technology (CrystalBrite, High Contrast Ratio's, etc)

I hope this helped a bit!

Thanks--but

There is quite a difference between Laptop LCD screens and stand-alone DESKTOP LCD screens -- although the resolution figures look the same.
