Hi

I have a Dell latitude 3510, which came standard with an 8gb dimm. I want to upgrade the memory and got 2 crucial 8gb dimms, (which say on their website that they are compatible with Dell). When I place a new dimm in slot 1, the laptop gives the blinking lights of 2 amber 4 white - which from Dell's websites means memory failure. When I place that same dimm in slot 2, the laptop boots up with no problems. Slot 1 only seems to accept the original dimm that it came with. Has anyone ever run into an issue like this and know how to fix it? I don't know if there are any Dell techs on this forum that could perhaps provide some insight into why this happening?

Thanks,
MNM7
