Item name: Dell PowerEdge 2950 Servers x5
Age and condition: 2nd hand, but are in excellent nic. They were used in a server room and were replaced by newer servers.
Do you include packaging: No
Warranty: No, take as is. They all work though and you're welcome to power them on, open them and check them etc.
Reason for selling: I was going to use the lot to do Folding @ Home and host a virtualized environment, but never considered the power requirements to run the lot. I'm going to get something smaller with less of a power footprint.
Price: See below as their specs differ. I think my prices are fair seeing that other companies sell them for R8k+, most of the time closer to R15k. Some of them offer you a warranty though, I don't.
Negotiable: Yes, if you take all of them. Possibly if you take less. Preference will be given to someone that wants them all.
Location: Pretoria
Shipping or collection: Buyer to collect

Specs:

2950 #1 - R7,600 (R6.6k if the drive is faulty)
2x dual core 3Ghz, FSB 1333, 16GB RAM @ 667Mhz, 3x 300GB HDD's. 1 drive might be faulty as I don't see it in the RAID config.

2950 #2 - R4,600
2x dual core 3Ghz, FSB 1333, 16GB RAM @ 667Mhz, no drives.

2950 #3 - R3,650
2x dual core 2Ghz, FSB 1333, 4GB RAM @ 667Mhz, 3x 70GB HDD's.

2950 #4 - R5,700
2x dual core 1.86Ghz, FSB 1066, 4GB RAM @ 667Mhz, 3x 300GB HDD's.

2950 #5 R5,700
2x daul core 1.86Ghz, FSB 1066, 4GB RAM @ 667Mhz, 3x 300GB HDD's.

They all have 2x PSU's, bezels, rails and I'll even throw in power cables. None of them have HBA's or additional nics (besides onboard).

Drives are completely unused (SAN storage was used), all SAS and of below types:

Hey man,
Two questions, does #1 or #2 have the following?

1. The Integrated PERC 5/i SAS 3.0 Gb/s RAID Controller so you can do RAID 5.
2. The DRAC (Dell Remote Access Card), to access the server remotely even if it's "off". (You should see the BIOS message "Remote Access Card Detected" when the system is in POST.

Beylie - for his q no 2 - you can also just look on the back for a network port with a little spanner by it - that will be that DRAC port - if there is not one it will be a little blanking cover.

Let me know if you want to drop the price more - I would then be interested in taking a possibly a few.

Still at work. I'll try to get the additional info up in the morning. Sorry for the delay.

1. 4 of the servers have this. Either server #1 or #2 does not.
2. Nope, none of them have this.

Thanks for the tip on how to check the DRAC easily!

Price drop bump. My arm will break off if it's twisted any further! :D

2950 #1 - R6,000 (R5k if the drive is faulty)

2950 #2 - R3,000

2950 #3 - R2,000

2950 #4 - R4,000

2950 #5 R4,000

Me speaking the english deliciously. :D

I meant to say someone can have both servers #1 and #2 for R8k. Even if the drive isn't faulty. Make more sense now?

Have to mention that server #1 and #2 are on hold for a buyer.
