Hi,

I have a Dell studio 1749, and I love it to bits. But the keyboard has some issues and the dvdrom does not accept discs anymore.

How does one go about getting replacement parts from dell?

Its an old machine buddy, you are better off buying a replacement.

Will try them. They dont mention that they distribute Dell parts, but it is worth a try.

Notebook Company, they were the best priced for Dell laptop battery

Search Dell studio 1749 keyboard on ebay, then click the free-international-shipping filter on the left side.

Saw your keyboard for R150-R300... maybe add 50% import duty (should be less).

Make sure the seller has a good trading history before you buy, and maybe use paypal to buy.

The DVD is around R1000 on ebay... don't know how much you use it, but I would just buy an external usb one locally.

Goodluck!

Yeah, I think with the dvdrom I will go external, and get one of those internal HDD caddies for dvdroms.
Will check olx for a nice cheap usb dvdrom.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
