Dell U2913WM vs Dell U2713HM

The 29" is an ultra-widescreen with 21:9 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1080 resolution.

The 27" is a 'HD' widescreen with 16:9 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1440 resolution.

You're going to have to ask Dell. There are no clear technical reasons, as neither is very different feature-wise, except that the U2713HM has a better stand.
 
Well the resolution on the 27" so they could have made it more expensive because they had to pack more pixels into it.
 
I'd rather take the 27" than the 29", because of the 29" having a very odd aspect ratio.

BluRay Movies will fit perfectly on the 27" due to its standard 16:9 aspect ratio.

The 27" is most likely more expensive because its got a higher resolution than the 29" one.
 
What would be your primary use? Work or movies or games.

For work i'd take the 29" but for movies or gaming i'd take the 27".
Well i might take the 29" for gaming but it'd be a tough call.

I'd take the 27" for work, gaming and movies. The 27" is like having 2x 22" FHD screens in portrait mode.

The only time that I'll consider the 29" is if I want to make a statement showing that I have a special/uncommon screen.
 
I have a u2711, I'd take it any day above the 29" (which is basically 1.5x23" side-by-side) for working, movies, photos, and gaming.
 
When you consider the aspect ratio you'll see it's better to have documents open for editing side by side or wide excel sheets.
I admit id rather have two screens but ya.
 
nakedpeanut: I'm currently using my Dell 3008WFP (2560x1600) + Samsung 2333 (1080x1920 - in portrait mode).

I hate the gap due to the bezels when you have 2 screens side by side. With my Dell screen I am using my applications/windows side by side 99% of the time.

For programming I find the height of 1080 pixels too few and 1920 pixels too much. 1440 - 1600 pixels in height is just perfect IMO :)
 
K fine shush i still need to get a nice 2560 x 1600 or at least 2560 x 1440 screen :(
Still rocking my old T240 1920 x1200

At work i use 2 x 1920 x 1080 which i quite nice so thats why i think the 29 would be good. But ya i think from a versatility point of view the 27" is a much better option.

Interesting that the headline for the 27" is calling it 2560x1440 but in the technical specs below it says 1920x1080.
Im pretty sure that the ultrasharp are 2560x1440 though.
 
I would use it for work/stock trading. Currently have 3 x 23" of which one is dying.

So was thinking to replace them with 2 x 27" or 2 x "29"

or

3 x 24" U2412M

16:9 or wider sucks if you ask me, I wish they would make more 16:10 panels.
 
+1 to that Ponder!
Luckily when I got my Dell 30", it was the same price of the 27", but with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

If I had to choose between 1920x1200 (16:10) or 2560x1440 (16:9), I'd pick the one with the higher resolution and not the one with the better aspect ratio though.
