I'm looking at getting a new laptop and the Dell Vostro 1015 at laptopdirect.co.za is going for R 6,553 incl VAT. Any thoughts or suggestions?

PS. Or anywhere else at a better price?

Please dont buy a laptop from abroad unless you have gone to collect it yourself, customs will be a breeze, you can say you took it out with you.
The DELL 1015is a wicked little notebook and I have sold loads already although that price is a bit steep, but then each to his own eh?
Wishing you many happy years with your new notebook maaaan!

If you're getting items in from overseas, you're going to pay heavy customs fees on laptops which makes importing useless unless you purchased the laptop while you were abroad.

I also tend to only go for laptops with non-Intel GPUs. I am currently shopping around for the best price of an ASUS N61JA. Fantastic laptop, i5 processor, 4GB DDR3, ATi Radeon HD5730 1GB, 500GB HDD, Multi-touchpad, 16" Screen, e-sata, USB3.0

Haven't bought it yet. So what price can you get on that laptop?

Please elaborate? PC's & components do not have heavy duties. I would be more worried about the warranty issues.

I am not sure why separate components are so low on duties fees but it is just that way. I imported a laptop (Asus 1201N) from the States and it almost cost me more to get it there because of the heavy duties.
