I have 20 Dellwyse Cx0 - CE50 LE Linux embedded thin clients connected to a Windows 7 Ultimate server. The thin clients connect to the computer via Remote Desktop.
I am having problems with this setup.
1. The thin clients automatically log off from the server spontaneously but I configured connection times of 8hours in remote desktop on the server.
2. I have configured remote desktop to read drives connected to the thinclients, Only 10 thin clients can read USB drives the rest display an access error.
3. I have mapped a network drive for all 20 thin clients but only 10 can access the drive. I get a message that says I have exceeded the number connections possible to that drive.

I need:
1. I need the 20 thin clients to connect permanently until user loggs off from the server.
2. Users must able to connect USB drives and save or work from them.
3. The mapped network drive must be accessible to all.

Questions:
1. How have you guys deployed thin clients?
2. What server software are you running?
3. How are the terminals configured to work with the server?

Please help,
Regards,

You should be running Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 at least. You will need RDP CALs for your licensing as well. To manage the Dell devices, you should also look at the Wyse Device Manager (http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/wyse-wdm/pd)
Windows 7 should not be used as the host.
What is your hardware spec?
Deployed loads of thin clients in Terminal Server / Citrix deployments.
The number of devices is determined by the server hardware and the applications you are running off the server. Your server hardware is the limiting factor.

Thank you for your responses, I installed Windows Server 2003 and set it up as a terminal server. It works okay for now.

Rajharie, I have 2 HP DL380 servers, 2 x 3.2Ghz Xeon, 8GB RAM. I have setup this for a school lab, they run Ms Office 2003 and internet explorer. 20 thin clients per server.
