Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the demerit system is in place and working? Also do the cops that sit on the side of the road take a picture when you speed or do they have to pull you over?

Thanks

so if they try to pull you over and you can't and keep driving it's not a big deal?

Not a big deal? It'd be grounds for being chased down & having guns pointed at you.

How on Earth do you surmise that ignoring a direct instruction from a traffic officer is "not a big deal"?

well stopping in full flow traffic seemed like a dangerous thing considering there was no shoulder to pull off onto and i would have to stop in a lane of traffic.

You mean, (if traffic lights are broken but you can't see that) a Cop puts up his hand for you to stop you are not going to because there are cars behind you? You are weird.

Don't say that is different because it ain't. There are cars behind you and no shoulder, that is the criteria.

Lol reminds me of some movie, I think jackie chan was in it. They chased the speedster on the highway and demanded that he stopped the car and then a massive 30+ pileup ensued :D

WHat would happen if you are, let's say, on a motorcycle, you are flagged to be pulled over and the car behind you bumps you off your bike? That would be an interesting scenario

the demerit system is already in place.
it's just not yet active.

if you get a speeding fine in the mail today (camera) it will list how many points you'll lose (once the system is active in June/July?)
I got a speeding fine in the mail a month ago (in February, & it wasn't even my car) and the points (I was supposed to lose) were listed on the fine.
