Hey guys
Im pretty clueless about cars but ive been offered a good deal (i think) on an opel corsa 1.0T Enjoy(mid spec).
Retail is R220000.It has 15k on the clock which seems quite high to me?Its from the opel dealership marked as a demo.
Price is R175000 inc of all costs.
My only concern is the mileage.
May i ask the experts their view here?Is it a good deal?

That's a large amount of "demo".

I'd say (with no proof at all) that it is a "slightly used" model, not a demo.

Demos do run into those kinds of miles. It depends on the need to have demos moved to used stock or not based on demand, but a demo will never go over 20000km.

Demos refer to the cars given to sales staff as well. Not just driving potential customers around.

My humble 2c on this is the mileage vs the engine size.

Small cars as demo - 15K .... s'pose I would also question this.

But, if it comes with balance of warrantee and some sort of plan then - yeah .... go for it.

it has 5 yr warranty and 3 yrs service plan
Comes from the opel dealership
Apparently a New car salesmans vehicle

It is a demo. Demo's usually have around 15000 km mileage for some reason. Few years back, I was looking into buying a vehicle and all the demos had about that kinda mileage across board. Nothing to be too concerned about.

Might be wrong but a car that's not been registered but driven for more than certain amount of km's is regarded as demo.

Toyota East London once tried to sell me (well my GF) a Demo Yaris with 42k KM on it... Went on a test drive and the speedometer was disconnected :wtf:

I dont understand how a 1L engine can perform better than a 1.6L engine?
I also wonder after 5 yrs of ownership and +- 100k on the clock how these small 3 cylinder engines will last?
I guess these engines have been thoroughly and rigorously tested up to high mileages by the engineers

Think about it.

If it's last years model that now 10 months old the it's done a mere 1500km a month or 68km a day.

That's not much at all if a salesman also drove it home every night.

It's called a Turbocharger.

Modern technology.
