Dentist going deep...which sedation to choose?

Hi I want to be a dentist how do I sedat

Going for an implant soon, been given the choice of local anesthetic & if I want:

1.) Oral (Midazolam / Dormicum)
2.) Gas (Nitrous oxide)

Not sure if I should take just local anesthetic or also opt for one of the other things on that list? Do they make the procedure more bearable? Last time I took gas was when I was a kid and woke up feeling like ****. Not sure if the Dormicum is maybe better?

Ja...guess it's just the extraction of the tooth and the implant drilling / screwing in I'm not looking forward to.

Not sure what the drug does. Think the gas makes you lose consciousness a bit? Dunno - kinda why I'm asking to see if there's any benefit in taking those. Eish...just a bit nervous.

I had an implant a few years ago. just a local antithetic and there was absolutely no pain. Nothing to be afraid of.
 
Had two implants, both in theatre with general anesthetic. All at my own cost, medical aid wouldn't contribute a cent. Went to a day hospital, in at 6am and out by 12pn.

Nitrous Oxide will put you into a twilight zone of sorts, where you will be conscious but you won't know what is going on. You should not feel a thing. That being said, someone will have to drive you home and you run the risk of having video of yourself saying wacky thoughts.
 
Definitely go for the gas as well! It's fantastic. Just completely relaxes you

If its an actual good dentist then local anesthetic is all you need. Reason I am saying "actual good dentist" is because some dentist miss some of the vital areas to inject and then bam you feel too much of the horror show but if the dentist knows his stuff he will hit the correct areas and you should not feel anything. The initial numb feeling as he is working will feel odd for a few minutes but not painful.
