Anyone know of a good Dentist in Cape Town. I have been holding off appointments as I have had bad experiences with Dentists before.

I've searched around quite a bit, too, mainly because I'm super fussy about the toxicity of the materials used. If this is of concern to you, then I can highly recommend Dr Mo Karodia in Claremont - 021-674-4581. Everyone I've referred to him has been more than happy ... insofar as going to the dentist can ever leave you feeling "happy" ;-)

Any recommendations in the Northern Suburbs?
After my previous session my dentist said I needed a follow up appointment as there was still work to be done. Upon my return, he asked why I was there, I said I don't know as he said I should return. He then proceeded to drill and apparently 'tidied up' some fillings, which fell out a few hours later - he was in a great hurry as he was about to leave on holiday. Cost me 2 grand...

I was told there is a good dentist in grassy park. But isnt grassy park a really dodgy area?

For Northern subs I can recommend Drs Smith & Winkel near Tygervalley. I have been seen to by Dr. Winkel and it was really a breeze. Very professional set-up too. Call them on 021 9195559

Dentist in Bothasig is pretty good: 021-5586990

There are lots of efficient dentists in town. They are promoting their clinics in different ways. It is very essential for a dentist to promote his clinic. As there are more number of dental clinics coming up it becomes necessary to publish and make people aware about his dental clinic using various means like internet, newspapers etc. There are lots of consultants who are specialized in doing this job; it is recommended to assign this task to them.

I can highly recommend Dr Pistorius in Paradyskloof Stellenbosch.

- aromatic and tasty gels are used
- watch discovery on the roof mounted tv while he works
- state of the art equipment
- excellent bedside manner
- instant dental photography - fully viewable by you
- painless injections
- highest standard of work

I know it's an old thread, but does medical aid cover regular checkups?

I would recommend against choosing a doctor based on their website. Rather choose a doctor based on word-of-mouth referrals. If they happen to also have a website, fine. There are some really unethical doctors who rely on websites and online marketers to sell themselves. Some stoop so low as to have fake positive reviews posted on medical forums, something I have witnessed firsthand.

Ha. My thread was revived lol. Unfortunately visited one guy close to where I stay in Rondebosch, wasnt happy. I am still on the hunt. Stellies is a bit far for me.

Dr Govender - Tableview Medicross.

Thanks to him I am no longer scared of the dentist :)

Ratty: try Dr Lukie Theron in Belvedere Road, Claremont (021) 6744229, I have been going to him for years and never had a problem.

No No No No No No - do NOT go to Dr Karodia. I had the worst experience!!!!! I had to go to another dentist to fix his mistake! I registered on this forum JUST to tell you that. Please don't.

I have many clients whom are very happy with Dr. karodia's work.
But Drs are only human and can make mistakes.
What exactly went wrong?
