So let's all share some depressing music.

Now I understand you may find different music depressing, I'm specifically talking about stuff like Burial, Massive Attack, that kinda moody deep big chorded trip stuff :D

Here's a brilliant example:

Love it though.

ponder agree with the Johnnie Cash song...

Captain Beer, never heard of that band before, but thanks that is quite hectic :D

One of my favorites. Have most their albums. Was hoping to see them live one day, unfortunately the singer passed away a few years ago :(

Type O Negative. These were the masters of misery . Guaranteed to wipe the smile off Justin Biebers face.
With cheerful ditties like:
World coming down
LIfe Is Killing Me
Everyone I Love Is Dead
Everything Dies.

Pete Steele was a legend. R.I.P.:(

David Sylvian - Darkest Dreaming :(

Another one that 'does it' for me: AHA - Crying in the rain

The Cure - Apart

He waits for her to understand
But she won't understand at all
She waits all night for him to call
But he won't call any more

He waits to hear her say, "Forgive"
But she just drops her pearl-black eyes
And prays to hear him say, "I love you"
But he tells no more lies

He waits for her to sympathize
But she won't sympathize at all
She waits all night to feel his kiss
But always wakes alone

He waits to hear her say, "Forget"
But she just hangs her head in pain
And prays to hear him say, "No more
I'll never leave again"

How did we get this far apart?
We used to be so close together
How did we get this far apart?
I thought this love would last forever

He waits for her to understand
But she won't understand at all
She waits all night for him to call
But he won't call

He waits to hear her say, "Forgive"
But she just drops her pearl black eyes
And prays to hear him say, "I love you"
But he tells no more lies

How did we get this far apart?
We used to be so close together
How did we get this far apart?
I thought this love would last forever

How did we get this far apart?
We used to be so close together
How did we get this far apart?
I thought this love would last forever

Veronica - Elvis Costello
I always loved the song, then after about 10yrs i found out what exactly it was about.
Still love it, but now find it incredibly sad !

"The song focuses on an older woman who has experienced severe memory loss. Costello's inspiration for this song was his grandmother, who suffered from Alzheimer's.""

Mandela Day - Simple Minds

The song always brings a lump to my throat, and I often wonder if the man had heard it. I hope he has.
Now in hospital again but probably for the last time, it has been 2 days since his condition has been declared as critical.
I have no doubt that when he does pass away this song will immediately spring to mind & I'll choke up.

The Antlers' album Hospice.

Hospice tells the story of a relationship between a hospice worker and a female patient suffering from terminal bone cancer, their ensuing romance, and their slow downward spiral as a result of the woman's traumas, fears, and disease. Frontman Peter Silberman has been reluctant to divulge explicit details regarding the meaning of the record, and the extent to which it is autobiographical.
