Desire S running Fallout rom

First time flasher. :D

Flashed CM9 on Friday evening... it was nice.. but wasn't too happy overall(Maybe cause I overclocked it and lag ensued :whistle:) Then I found the Fallout rom on xda. Simply amazing. Its super smooth considering its ICS and running sense 4.0. It has a slightly buggy camera(crashes now and then) but otherwise, a huge improvement.

hope they can fix everything tho.then i'l try it out
hoping the ics update comes soon.did you see the chinese ota is out? or leaked

Excellent choice! :D I've been on Fallout since its release, and can't see myself going back to AOKP, or CM9. Fallout has made me fall in love with Sense :p

Read about it. Considering I'm new to all this, I don't wana mess around too much. Taking it slow, can't afford to brick the phone as I don't have another one. Sticking with the safer ROMs.

Thats awesome man. It has really shown me a different side of Sense. Have you added/flashed/edited anything particularly important to it ? So I know how to improve mine. :D

I just deleted the apps I don't use, like the stock email app, flashlight, etc. Other than that, Fallout is perfect as is :thumbup:
 
Good to hear. Pity about the WiFi hotspot not working.

Perhaps someone should start a dedicated Desire S thread on mybb..
 
theres an app in the market that works i think, i saw it on a few roms

Yes, it's Sense 4 Lite. :)

Cooldroid v5.1.0 was released last night, and that is the full Sense 4, except for Rosie. I'm downloading it now, so I'll see how that is.

Another fallout user here. V3.1.1 :)

Head and shoulders above any other custom rom I have had on my phone. I reckon the camera on the DS is **** anyway.

The only thing that really bothers me atm though, is that the FNB app isn't working properly. There are just white boxes where the text is supposed to go.

That will have to wait; my download failed at 40% :rolleyes: and the website thinks I'm still busy downloading :banghead:

And anyway, Lowveld is busy working on an update, so I'll patiently be waiting for that :D
 
So, I've updated to Fallout Evolution, and it's awesome! :D I haven't had any problems with it so far. It's smooth, and has the full Sense4 lockscreen, with the weather forecast :p
 
Anyone had problems with the camera stopping unexpectedly ? I do.. Both the stock camera and UCam. Any ideas as to why this might happen ?

Have you turned off face detection in the camera settings? I don't use UCam, so I'm not familiar with the app.

Nope. I'm back on stock now. :( I don't have enough time to play mess with the ROMs and its not the most stable thing at the moment. There were reports of the SD card unmounting under stress, which I experienced first hand. I need something stable. But I see theres V4.2 out now.
