Hi guys I’m looking to buy a desktop pc either an i3 or an i5.whats the best brand to go for?ive only owned laptops and have had lots of problems so that’s why I’ve decided to go the desktop way. I was thinking of going down the prebuild road and tweaking a few of the component but I don’t no who to go to and need some help.

I went to there pages and they don’t sell Hp,Dell,Acer,Lenovo desktops. Mostly parts and I don’t no how to build a computer lol

What's your budget and what workload will you be using it for..? Gaming, browsing, word and Excel..?

They do sell brand name PCs, they usually cost more than a custom built system though. Both wootware & rebeltech can assemble systems for you.

We can help you with a component list no problem.
Tell us if you only need the case and innards or if you require display, mouse, keyboard etc?
What games do you play and what resolution you want to play at?
What do you want to stream, your gaming?
Your budget?

Around 8500 I do have displays mousses and keyboards. I was thinking of going to Lenovo or acer but I don’t no which is better and more reliable I no Lenovo used to be ibm so they have a history. Mostly netflix and a bit of gaming. Watching movies etc. Building sounds complicated. I saw a Lenovo i3 and i5 which looks nice and I could do all that stuff on it and the acer aswell but I’ve had a lot of problems with acer in the past so I’m contemplating of staying away.

The PC building is taken care of by wootware, here is the basket item for it.. They assemble and stress Brest for you, so when it's delivered, you plug in and install windows and you are good to go.. they can install windows for you as well, just costs more..

Now, for a decent mid range desktop, you will have to up your budget a little bit.. probably add another 2 to 2.5k not including cost to build and stress test..

For R8500 you'll probably only be able to get dell/hp etc i3 system without a gfx card.

Wootware or rebeltech will build for you, you'll have to up your budget though for anything decent.

Total is R5781. Should do for his requirements

He want's to game and stream, I don't consider the apu sufficient for that. R5 2600 & RX 570 4GB. That would add about R4100 to the price you listed bringing it to R9900 which is R1.4k over his budget but will give way more performance.

He never told us what games? Also you can stream on that without an issue? Add a 1050ti to the mix then from some low to mid end gaming.

My understanding is that they want to stream Netflix not their gaming, in which case the Ryzen system is fine, depending on their gaming requirements.
I would recommend waiting till after Jan 8 to see how correct the Ryzen 3000 rumors are - might be some price reductions.

I'm guessing those are separate activities and by streaming they mean watching stuff online, not streaming their gaming...
Browsing and streaming and a bit of gaming
If you settle for playing older games / none at all you can really get away with something cheap.

and a bit of gaming

That's a very deep rabbit hole and like saying "I am looking for a car to take my kids to school, fetch groceries, and a bit of track racing."

You could easily spend 45k for "a bit of gaming" in a wide range of quality and price.
