For the past three weeks my newly installed fiber connection (less than 3 months old) has seen dramatic performance degradation when playing World of Warcraft and markedly degraded performance when streaming Twitch and watching youtube.
So the back story, I installed Fiber at my place (Rustenburg) after having 4MB adsl for the past 6 years. Initially it was only me and my wife playing WoW (World of Warcraft) on the line to make sure it is capable as the end state would be that we as a family (Me, my wife and our 2 sons) will all be playing WoW together. After a week of testing we add them and still had the same latency in game as before (except for the odd 5 - 15ms increase occasionally). So for the best part we had 180ms latency (home and world) with 4 PC's connected and later even added voice comms with no change to the latency.
Two or so weeks ago we started experiencing lag spikes of 1000ms +. One or two a night, that became more and more frequent. Last night I was the only one connected and I had 5000+ms latency and experienced multiple DC's. My wife on the adsl (still in our notice period) experienced no issues whatsoever.
I have gone through the whole troubleshooting process with blizzard which came back as ISP issues, my ISP (infinity wireless) claims its SeaCom at fault.
How or what can I do to get this fixed? I phoned Seacom and according to them they are not aware of any issues?
