recently downgraded an acer aspire 5741z laptop from win7 back to xp.
everything is good besides the wifi driver.
the wifi adaptor is a broadcom bcm943225hm.

spoke to acer, they "are unable to help".
i have searched & searched but not getting anywhere.

anyone here know where to get this driver or a compatible one

I found this with a Google search, maybe it will work for you: "Just to clarify for others. Windows XP won't see this driver as the correct driver for the Broadcom BCM943225HM. However, if you select "Install from a list or specific location" and then "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." you can force install the Broadcom 43224AG driver which is working fine for my Broadcom BCM943225HM"

Also had the same issue with a win7 laptop which the client want downgraded to heXPee...

In the end, I found that the easiest thing to do is to get an USB Ethernet adapter (with XP driver), plug that in, then run Unknown Device Identifier from Huntersoft.

In the case of the NIC being a Realtek-based one, I start with, for example the RTL9110, then work my way up the list, until I get the driver which will work.

Before you actually wipe Windows 7, head over to Device Damager, then expand everything to get an idea of which driver/s to use.

Some are fairly straightforward and quick to find, others are a real PITA to find.

Bookmark the driverpacks.net site. Download, extract and burn to CD/DVD for future use. Saved my previous employer lots of hours when customers came in. :)
