MWEB have been anti-consumer for as long as I can remember. That's probably the biggest reason that I've never been a client of theirs. In the past they use to hold people hostage by forcing them to have ADSL / Internet accounts through MWEB just to be able to keep their email addresses.

You are 100% correct! BUT when they "pioneered" the uncapped as per the old advert I was very surprised. Then the real CEO left and then they returned to their roots!

Leaving that ad on their Facebook page is unbelievable. It's pretty much like if Neville Chamberlain had left the photo of him getting off the plane with the piece of paper in 1938 on his Facebook page in 1940. If they had Facebook back then of course.

It's on MWeb Guy's. It was relevant at the time and I doubt it's meant to be a current advert.

Yeah. It was relevant, back then. Now it's just incredibly embarrassing and ironic.

School fees I guess, they shouldn't have introduced that low price 1mbps it's obviously proved to be quite unprofitable.

It's plenty profitable for the other ISP's though. Actually, the others are cheaper. They're just getting greedy now is all.

Well until the service gets oversubscribed, I've done this dance before. Not worth the effort TBH.

Bullschit. They used those specials to fix their cash position and they're now kicking off the top tier to maximize their balance sheet. Subscribers were taken advantage of. They knew full well what they were doing then and do so now.

They've reached a critical mass where they no longer need volume but to rather maximize profits off a smaller base. Makes managing their network easier, lowers input costs, increases operating margins and they can in all likelihood show the same profit. Their brand they believe is resilient enough to deal with the fallout.

It's business. Schit business for the consumers, and bordering on unethical imo, but just business. Greed at the expense of the consumers...

Well it would depend on exactly how many users have been adversely affected by this policy change. I wonder what percentage of people the number of MyBB users who have received letters/been throttled?
