Ok, so I recently installed FLStudio (just the demo off their site, no cracks, etc) and when I did a virus scan (Avira AntiVir Personal), it detected a trojan - TR/Dldr.fraud.bbr in one of the FLStudio folders. So I quarantined it's ass and tried Googling it but there is no info about what it is exactly

My question is this: Has the antivirus just flagged something innocent that I should just ignore, or, if not, what action do I take? Uninstall the FLStudio and contact them, telling them about the alleged trojan or what? As always, any info will be greatly appreciated :o

I can't give you any advice sadly, but I can understand that it's frustrating not to get any good info through Google.

Heaven knows I struggled to find info when the flash drive trojans started to hit my school, in their various strains.

I tried reading through Castle Cops and other sites, but it's just a bit over my head technically.

Bleugh. It's worse than that.

If you really want to go the antivirus software route, then you have to trust the company who's software you're using to provide up-to-date information on the latest threats and have a searchable database to verify stuff.

You have only just installed it, and you are already asking questions that they don't seem to be able to answer ... perhaps you should consider using somebody else instead of trusting this company with your data?

i.e. Ask them and judge them completely and utterly on how they answer your query and on how long the response takes.

I wouldt worry about it. Image-Line's stuff is pretty secure. I don't know how anti-virus' work but it might have flagged the name because it contains the word fraud? FL does have a built in fraud thingy for detecting known cracks...

upload the suspect file to virustotal - from the results you should easily be able to see if its a real trojan or a false positive.

I was told the same thing at the Avira forums ..... only problem is, when it was detected, I chose the 'delete it's ass' option ;):D So no file to upload anywhere :o
