So,

i was thinking last night.....

I have just turned 44, and my son is turning 4 in a couple of weeks. it seems i have lost my energy, i feel good, but i suspect that is because i havent felt great in so long, that i have forgotten what is feels like. i smoke about 10 - 12 cigs a day, and have about 3 beers a day as well, after work, when i'm cooking (or a quick one at the Dros). i play tennis, so i am not overweight, and still reasonably fit.

i have decided to change the way i eat, but 1st i would like to do a detox for about a week. A girl at work (fitness freak) suggested i start with green tea (cold) during the day, and then veggies steamed at night, with the occasional boiled egg (apparently if you get headaches) Also, no sugar, processed foods, sugar etc.

the stopping smoking will follow once i've done this..... Will get e-cig in the meantime.

anyone done something similar with tips on what to do, how and what not do ?????

by how i mean, what products to use / avoid etc.

Cheers

T

Stay away from Gluten and Vegetable Oils (all wheat / corn starch). Those make your blood sugar spike, which causes overproduction of insulin and since your brain doesn't get the correct signals, you can overeat and/or keep spiking your blood sugar which will cause long term damage to your arteries and set you up for a heart attack.

You'll find your energy returns quite quickly if you cut out those types of carb's and stick with fresh veggies. worked for me, have tons of energy and focus, and since I'm overweight, have lost 22kg this year (hoping to be 30kg lost in total by end of December)
