Deus reveals 2169bhp electric hypercar in New York

Vayanne has a claimed top speed of 248mph and 0-62mph takes 1.99sec, according to computer simulations

New Austrian car manufacturer Deus has unveiled an all-electric hypercar at the New York motor show that looks set to become one of the most powerful cars on sale.

Developed in partnership with Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE), the Deus Vayanne is predicted to produce more than 2169bhp and 1475lb ft of torque, according to computer simulations.

If accurate, it would mean the model is significantly more powerful than the 1877bhp Pininfarina Battista, 1923bhp pre-production Lotus Evija and 1914bhp Rimac C_Two.

Top speed is 248mph and 0-62mph takes 1.99sec, according to its maker. Despite sitting just 120mm from the ground, the Vayanne will offer a “comfortable and luxurious ride” and provide “maximum daily usability in the hypercar class”, Deus says.

The car's design language was inspired by “symmetry and infinity”. The grilles at the back and front are intended to represent the infinity loop, a feature emphasised by a light strip at the rear

Inside, the Vayanne has a fully digital instrument cluster and control display. The black and white interior also features an ‘infinity mirror', which offers an improved view of the cabin in what Deus says is an automotive industry first.

1641 kW Deus Vayanne electric Hypercar debuts in New York

Another day, another electric hypercar… but the latest 1641 kW Deus Vayanne that debuted in New York has some strong credentials that can back up some of its impressive performance claims.

You see, unlike many tech startups that dabble in battery powered sports cars, Austrian manufacturer Deus has paired up with two respectable industry leaders; Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering. This means that the fledgling automaker which is little less than two years old has been able to debut this real-life creation ahead of 99 units planned for production.

With the Williams name behind its belt, you know, the same one from Formula 1, Deus states the Vayanne can achieve a 0-100 km/h sprint within 1.99 seconds and continue onto a top speed of 400 km/h. These figures, along with the 1641 kW power output are all claimed but be sure to expect a price tag equally as large for the bespoke creations.

What we do know from the images of its debut is that the 1641 kW Deus Vayanne has employed the expertise of Italdesign to shape and contour the sort and cohesive forms of the exterior and plush looking two seater cockpit. Deus describes the exterior as a “design language of symmetry and infinity” which is further exemplified by the use of the lemniscate for the front air intake and taillight design.

The DEUS Vayanne is a 2,200bhp, 248mph electric hypercar from Austria

Fancy a 0-62mph time of less than 2.0 seconds? The Vayanne will tear your face off

Remember a couple of weeks ago when we brought you news of an upcoming electric hypercar called the DEUS Vayanne (day-oos vy-ahn, apparently)? Well, the pictures above show what it could look like when first deliveries begin in 2025. Oh, and we now know that it’ll have more than 2,200bhp. Sorry what?

Yep, the Austrian firm has said that – along with its partners Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering – it wants to be the first EV hypercar builder to cross the 2,200bhp mark. It’ll also get 1,475lb ft of torque and a top speed of over 248bhp. DEUS also claims 0-62mph in “under 1.99 seconds”.

Somehow though, it also says that the Vayanne will have a “comfortable and luxurious ride” and that it’ll feature “maximum daily usability in the hypercar class”.

Production will be limited to just 99 units, and we reckon it’s actually quite a looker with those infinity loops front and rear. Some work might be needed on those panel gaps, though.

Deus Vayanne EV is going to be a 2,200 hp supercar

At this year's New York Auto Show, the so-called Deus Vayanne electric-powered supercar was introduced in the flesh. It's far from a finished product, of course, but it's nice to see it in real-life. The company's representatives also revealed some of the insane specs they are aiming for and perhaps the most notable metric is the 2,200 hp peak power output.

The car is based on an EV platform that's co-developed by Williams Advanced Engineering and Italdesign, with the latter being responsible for the body. We have them to thank for the unusual grille on the back that's in line with the front one, both symbolizing infinity.

Deus Vayanne: 2169bhp EV hypercar to launch in 2025

Williams Advanced Engineering and Italdesign engineer "reliable and feasible" hyper-GT, which will begin testing next year

New Austrian car manufacturer Deus has unveiled an all-electric hypercar at the New York motor show that looks set to become one of the most powerful cars on sale.

The Vayanne – named after Vienna, Deus’ home city – is being developed in partnership with Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE). Speaking to Autocar in New York; Deus’s head of design Adrian-Filip Butuca said: “The collaboration means we are delivering a safe, reliable and feasible product that will make it to the market. That is the number one priority for us. And on a personal level, they are great people to work with.”

The first cars are expected to be delivered from Italdesign’s Turin factory in 2025.

Computer simulations predict that the Vayanne's twin-motor, four-wheel-drive powertrain will produce more than 2169bhp and 1475lb ft of torque.

If accurate, it would mean the 4WD model is significantly more powerful than the 1876bhp Pininfarina Battista, 1923bhp pre-production Lotus Evija and 1888bhp Rimac Nevera.
