Hi,

I have compiled Linux dialog utility for my "full" Linux router embedded machine
and plan to use widget boxes, coming with dialog examples
as text-based GUI interface for Linux USSD application.

The issue is to write MS Vista script to run putty ssh telnet
from a command line with user@your-Linux_machine and password
in batch mode,
to run Linux shell script calling dialog widget as text-based GUI.

Another issue is to have this MS Vista script to open more than one
putty ssh telnet session to overcome the problem with foreground - background processes switching / swapping.

If the problem with MS DOS like text-based GUI is solved,
I will write some code for testing of Huawei modem ,
to get session date, data transfer and more
and finally , an interface with a code, for sending USSD commands.

Please contact me , if you are interested.

But the key problem is text-based GUI for Linux application,
made of dialog widget boxes, opened in seperate putty ssh session,
emulating xwindows functionality to run multi processes in foreground.

Sounds like cygwin can solve most of your problems. The rxvt package is a win-gdi application, and there's also an x server with gdi output. And you can run bash and ssh-client e.g. ssh a@b 'cat /var...'
