Development Laptop Needed

Hi all,

Looking for a laptop with the minimum specs below. Going to be used as a dev machine but as I only run one VM at a time doesn't need to be too beefy.

i5-i7 CPU
4gb upgradable to 8gb.
Dedicated GPU
Decent battery life ~ 4-6 hours
Full HD screen
Backlit keyboard
13-15" Screen

Budget is 0-R13k odd. Might increase if I see something I like. Was looking at the MSI GE60 2OE 15.6" Intel Core i5 Gaming Laptop as my machine of choice but after the heating issue thread I saw here earlier I'm having doubts.
Your suggestions would be appreciated.

I use a Lenovo Y-580, just one VM running 99% of the time.

Everything is quick, plus you can still play BF4 when your bored.

Last laptop was an i5 and I REALLY noticed the difference when switching to i7.

A bit too big according to your specs (17") and a bit too pricey, but I have yet to be dissapointed! Have had it for 1.5 years now.

Ideally you'd want an i7, 120GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. It should have the option of upgrading to 16GB of RAM.

At my office, we don't really care that much about the laptop's screen resolution, because we run it off a docking station with 2x 23" FHD screens in any case.

True, thing is I only have one 1600*1050 screen at work and I'm running a 1366*768 on the current laptop which makes coding a bit of a mission for me.
What laptop's are you using at your offices?

Yeh, SSD is pretty much the lifeblood of any machine.

I find my 128GB SSD somewhat limiting, especially when I am trying to build a fake network of VM's or do anything involving tons of big files. I would recommend a 240GB SSD.
